Who Your Pajamas Are Helping
When you wear your FeelGood pajamas, you’re helping underprivileged children get the education they deserve.
Your purchase is helping continue to support the school children at two pre-kindergarten schools in Bali namely PAUD Cemara Kasih and PAUD Widya Kumara Sari, in various ways including:
- School fees for children from families in extreme poverty
- Creativity workshops and educational trips on preserving artistic traditions and protecting the environment
- Giving volunteers ongoing opportunities to teach the teachers and school children - and spread generosity
- Cross-sharing of curriculum and songs to as many local schools as possible - and promote the reduce, reuse, recycle of resources
When you're in Bali, we'd be so thrilled to take you the schools for an unforgettable experience meeting the children whose lives you're changing.
FeelGood’s Volunteer Events for Children at PAUD Cemara Kasih and PAUD Widya Kumara Sari in Bali
Cross-Cultural Sharing: April 2017
One of the greatest gifts we can give children is to inspire them to be curious about the world. William, 8 years old from New Zealand, and his mom Tracey were vacationing in Bali and generously shared their time with the school children at PAUD Widya Kumara Sari. William and the school children had an amazing exchange of learning on appreciating, communicating and interacting with children from other cultures and in other countries. They read a book and acted out the characters. They created their own book using the hundreds of colored pens that William and Tracey donated to the school. Conversations flowed without speaking each other's language. What a fun day!
Fabric Upcyling: March 2017
Upcycling, as defined by Fashion Revolution, "is the process of reusing materials in a way that increases a product's value and makes it desirable again, saving garments from going to landfill." In March 2017, Team FeelGood brought so much fun to 42 school children of PAUD Widya Kumara Sari. They were taught how to upcycle FeelGood's fabric scraps into something new, and reduce waste. These little ladies were so proud to display the tassels they created for their Moms.
Production of Song Videos: Starting February
Agnes’ dream is to share her lifeskill curriculum and originally composed children's songs for Paud Cemara Kasih with as many schools in Bali as possible. We're proud to help Agnes spread generosity by committing to produce her song videos within 2017. Warm thank you to our volunteer filmmakers from Austria, Dominik and Matthew, for helping us start the video production, and enjoying the 6-hour drive to the school with Team FeelGood.
Batik-making: February 2017
The foundation of a bright future comes from knowing your past. The special day was February 19, 2016. Sixteen selected school children at Paud Cemara Kasih, their parents and teachers, experienced their first educational trip to Ubud, Bali, to learn the traditional technique of Indonesian batik-making. Each student enjoyed learning by doing as they hand painted their respective bandana with non-toxic dyes and beautiful colors. Who knows one day, one of them could be a batik-painter, who'll continue to preserve this ancient technique that has been designated by UNESCO as Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2009. Loads of thank you to Mata Dewi Workshop (FeelGood’s partner) for giving the course and materials. The batik bandanas are now on sale in our website and all proceeds go to the school.
Mandala Painting: January 2017
Learning mindfulness can have a significant long-term effect on a child’s development. One sunny day in January, Team FeelGood took a six-hour drive to Paud Cemara Kasih school in West Bali and delighted the children with a fun course on ‘Mandala Making’. They were guided to contemplate, focus, and be creative. Look at one of the mandalas they handcrafted as a team! Big thank you to our volunteers - Ani Himiwati from Bali and Sarah Weller from New York.
